Capt. Mark Poster

ABOUT

Since 1996 Poster Marine Consulting has been retained as an expert for agencies, plaintiffs and defendants. Our caseload has included everything from collisions and allisions, non-injury and multiple fatalities, BUI’s, switched operators and hit and runs, falls onboard and persons ejected, skier mishaps and propeller strikes, groundings and sinkings, to fires and explosions.

Captain Poster’s expertise in the field of Boating Safety is attested to by his qualifications, as a former Marine Enforcement Officer, Lake Operations Supervisor, and as a recognized subject matter expert.

As a Lifetime Member and Past-President of the California Boating Safety Officers Association (CBSOA), Poster served on the state’s (DBW) Boating Safety Advisory Committee (BSAC) representing the law enforcement community to propose new safe boating legislation.

As an educator and communicator, Poster has taught boating safety classes for over 30 years. Past students have included the Girl Scouts, the U.S. Marines, the public, youth groups, and organizations. As a Master Instructor in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, he won the “Best Instructor in the 11th Coast Guard District” Teaching Competition.

Poster was Harbor Master of a 650-slip marina, captain of a 125-passenger tour boat, and as Lake Operations Supervisor, was responsible for all annual private and commercial dock inspections, buoy placement, special events, filming, launch ramps and Boating Safety Enforcement.

quote

" Mark has been giving USARC staff boating safety training for well over 20 years. Each year he makes our training new and interesting, and tailors the discussions directly to the issues we face with our unique summer program for physically challenged athletes.

He is knowledgeable, knows all the stories, and knows the boating industry inside and out. Thanks, Mark for keeping us safe on the beaches, on the docks and on the water!"
